Mission

Berkshire Boulders is a climbing gym rooted in community. We believe that climbing is for everyone and that the places we climb, both indoors and outdoors, are worth protecting.

We donate our profits to organizations that expand access to climbing and strengthen the community around us.

We are dedicated to maximizing impact.

The people

WHO WE ARE

Berkshire Boulders is a small locally run operation.

You can find us onsite or outdoors.

Nick Friedman

Nick Friedman

Founder

Nick started Berkshire Boulders because he saw outdoor recreation in the Berkshires, particularly climbing and mountain biking, as underrepresented and full of potential. He wanted to build something tangible that could serve as a starting point for the community, both as a place to climb indoors and as a vehicle for expanding awareness of and access to the outdoors. Ultimately Nick believes in outdoor recreation as essential community asset and an anchor to regional economic development.

Austen McNulty

Austen McNulty

General Manager

Austen was raised in the Berkshires and developed his early climbing roots in Great Barrington before beginning his coaching career as a youth instructor at Indoor Ascent in New Hampshire. He worked as a recreational therapist in Utah, using the outdoors to help people heal, then spent three years at VITAL Climbing in New York as Head Coach and Program Director, building youth programs, clinics, and camps from the ground up. He cares about helping climbers of every background find out what they're capable of.
